Mindfulness Series

Welcome to Melbourne Child Development’s Mindfulness series. This series contains 5 parts, which can be viewed in any order, with each session running for approximately 20-30 minutes.

During the series, you and your child will learn:

  • strategies to encourage deep breathing to promote calm and relaxation
  • ways to tune into the body, including exploring the senses and the breath
  • mindfulness techniques such as using imagery and imagination to help calm the mind and body
  • a little about a ‘growth mindset’ and how paying attention to our thoughts and feelings can make them grow

Sessions are designed to be completed in a calm, quiet space. Some sessions may require materials such as paper and pencils – our psychologist will tell you what you need at the beginning of each session.

These mindfulness activities are a great way for children and adults alike to take some time out to relax, refresh and recharge, and teach some simple strategies that can be used when we need a moment of calm. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy some mindful minutes with our Psychologist Lisa Jones.
