Cellfield is a unique approach for reading disorders. It is a computer-based program based on what is known to be the best practice in reading intervention.
Cellfield is a computer-based intervention designed around what actually happens in a reading brain. Essentially, it uses computer science to rewire the brain in just two weeks.
Reading fluently with good comprehension needs many things to happen quickly. Cellfield uses brain plasticity and computer science to synchronise information to enable the student to recognise words in peripheral vision and have spare processing capacity in working memory to think about meaning.
Cellfield is ideal for adolescents and can be started as young as 8 years of age. The Cellfield program is appealing to an adolescent in terms of both the technology used and the novel approach to intervention.
Studies have shown that, in general, the older the student the bigger gain they can make, with significant gains being made in a short period of time.
Follow up assessment shows that they continue with this accelerated rate of learning in their learning development even after Cellfield is completed.
The Cellfield program is a two-week daily intervention program (Phase 1). For convenience, many families choose to do the program over the school holidays, but the Program is run all year round.
Phase 2 of the program is designed to consolidate and put into practice what has been learnt in Phase 1. The Phase 2 follow up sessions include 10 group sessions or 8 individual sessions, run weekly, following Phase 1 completion.
Melbourne Child Development holds FREE Cellfield Individual Information Sessions where you can discuss the program, see a demonstration and learn how Cellfield can help your child build their reading skills and gain confidence.
