Psychologist

About the position

As a Melbourne Child Development clinician you will be passionately nurtured by experienced Practice Principal Robyn Stephen and her supportive and experienced clinical supervision team to provide the best evidence-based therapy that creates positive futures for children and their families. 

We are seeking an equally passionate Psychologist with 2 years plus experience in child psychology, to join a multi-discipline team with our Psychologist, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistant to create truely holistic intervention for each child.

Our client base comprises a diverse presentation of neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Specific Learning Disorder in clients from birth to their early 20s. 

There is scope to streamline your caseload into your areas of passion and to be provided with internal and external professional development opportunities to develop your knowledge and confidence in those areas. One of our experienced clinicians has recently followed her passsion for animal assisted therapy which she now provides at Melbourne Child Development. 

Clinicians work with our dynamic client services team at our bright and freshly renovated rooms in Box Hill South for 4 days a week and spend a day working from home on Telehealth. It is possible to provide our 19 hours of clinical contact over 4 days and have an additional day at home for admin and professional reading and development. 

We provide a psychologically safe place for you to voice your opinions and ideas and we are innovative in response to those ideas. You can build your professional reputation with our loyal network of referring paediatricians, teachers and other health professionals. 

Professional development is a high priority at Melbourne Child Development and you have a generous annual allowance for external PD and external supervsion at the same time as having access to regular internal PD and supervision from our experienced supervisors.

Allied Health Administration Manager

View Position Description

We are looking for a full time Administration Manager who is warm, energetic and can lead a team.

The Administration Manager reports to the Practice Manager and is responsible for the daily operation of the Practice.

The Administration Manager leads the 6 – member Client Services team developing learning, teamwork and self -leadership in each member. 

Examples of responsibilities of the role include (but is not limited to);

  • Day to day operation of the office
  • Daily interaction with clients and client relations
  • Invoicing, taking payments, recipting, reconciliations, making appointments
  • Keeping up to date on government regulations and funding bodies such as the NDIA.
  • Assisting with recruitment of Client Services team members.
  • Organizing training of new Client Services team members.
  • Rostering Client Services staff.
  • Co-ordinating calendar planning of clinician’s appointments for the following year.
  • Implementing new software and training staff.
  • Co-ordinating with maintenance and service providers
  • Developing network of referral agents.
  • Developing efficiency of administrative processes.
  • Supervision of the appearance and cleanliness of the Practice to a high standard.
  • Maintaining office and kitchen supplies
  • Weekly workshop with the Practice Manager.

Skills and experience 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Allied Health Practice lead administration role in a similar sized business to Melbourne Child Development.
  • Strong leadership skills that commit to high standard, quality outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, time and self- management skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and build a cohesive team in a busy environment
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to others.
  • Ability to delegate work and supervise workloads.
  • Ability to design and implement workflow for projects.
  • Show initiative in improving processes and procedures
  • Family centred approach.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Cliniko, Xero, Coviu, Zoom, Jot form.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS is an advantage.
  • Current Working with Children Check and a fit to work check within the last 3 months.
  • Flexibility with hours.
  • Be open to learning
